Success at the Kodak Gold Awards, 2007!

I have just received back my awards entry for the 2007 Kodak Gold Awards, and was delighted to received both a Gold Award and a Silver Award for my wedding print entries. In addition to this I was also awarded a Silver Award for one of my wedding album designs – a fabulous 42 side, 15″x 15″ leather Queensberry album. It was an amazing wedding, a stunning album, and I am delighted to receive an award for it.

It’s always extra special to receive an award for an album as it really rewards the ability to consistently capture great images through-out the entire wedding day.

This is my Gold Award Winning image. It has featured on this blog in an earlier entry, and was from the very stylish wedding of Helen and Ben. This photograph was taken at Cable Bay Vineyards

This Silver Award winner was a moment stolen from the wedding of Duana and Nat, as these beautiful little flower girls were watching all the guest arrive through the french doors. I love this shot because it’s totally unstaged and I adore the sense of childlike anticipation. Nat and Duana’s wedding took place at a private bay at Te Matuka Bay here on Waiheke Island. The ceremony was on St Patricks Day so green was the theme, which looked absolutely stunning. I’ll upload more images from their wedding soon…

“destination weddings…”, Part one.

Although 95% of my weddings and other work is on Waiheke Island, every once in a while I get tempted to do weddings “overseas” (although I’m not sure if the 35 minute ferry ride can really be described as being overseas!). There were two lovely weddings like this last season. The first was the small and intimate wedding of Jo and Michael in Auckland City. The photographic session took place at The Metropolis before their simple and elegant ceremony, with more images captured on the wet streets of Auckland as we made our way down to the waterfront to catch the ferry to Waiheke. Jo and Michael had their reception dinner at Mudbrick Vineyard here on Waiheke.
