Helen and Dan

Rain, rain, rain!  Yes, another rainy day wedding on Waiheke – what is going on?!  I thought I was meant to be living on a beautiful sunny island!  Still, Helen and Dan were calm and collected and didn’t seem the least bit fazed by the torrential downpours – if there’s any truth to the old wives tale that rain on your wedding day brings good luck, then this beautiful couple are set for a long and happy marriage. ;)

Helen and Dan had a delightful wedding, made even more enjoyable for us by the fun and frivolity had by all at the creative session (as you will see in the photos below)…

Helen’s dress awaits her;

A proud moment for Helen’s mum…

Helen and Dan had their ceremony and reception at Saratoga Estate in Onetangi.  Their vows were very heartfelt (there were more than a few people discreetly dabbing their eyes), and at the end of their ceremony the whole group of gathered guests joined in a rousing chorus of the Chris Knox kiwi classic, “Not Given Lightly”.

The girls ham it up with a bit of brolly play!  They were such a fun group to photograph…

Dan tries to look innocent!

One of my favourite shots from Helen and Dan’s wedding is this one below - I love the gentle feel and the beautiful and delicate light.

Thanks Helen and Dan - it was an honour to be part of your beautiful wedding. :)

Tracey and Graeme

Tracey and Graeme had a lovely wedding day at The Estate over here on Waiheke Island.  They had a small ceremony with a few family and close friends and then a big party in the evening!  Great way to get married methinks!

Tracey looked fabulous.  Her hair was done at Phoenix hair design in Oneroa, and her gorgeous flowers were from Vicki at Wildflower

It was a heartfelt ceremony, with lots of lovely moments…

We went to Oneroa Beach for the photographs, just a few minutes down the road from Church Bay (where The Estate is situated).

On the way back to the reception we stopped at one of the local halls to get some slightly more “grungy” shots.  The lower exterior of this hall has recently been painted pink (!), so I am quite pleased we got there first.  Although, now that I think about it, pink walls and corrugated iron might be the perfect combination for wedding grunge ;)

(Thanks to my ever fabulous husband/second shooter Lance for capturing me doing my stomach exercises while on the job).

But more importantly, thanks to Tracey and Graeme for a great day and for being so happily and obviously in love.  :)
