Zoe and Alex

Zoe and Alex are a lovely couple from the UK who decided to elope to Waiheke island for a laid back beach wedding. Their flamboyant style meant that they were noticed by the locals and endlessly congratulated by all they passed for two days following the wedding!

Needless to say, pink was the colour theme of the wedding…

Alex and Zoe were staying at The Boatshed which is a fabulous boutique accommodation and wedding venue here on Waiheke.  Just a short walk down the hill from The Boatshed is Little Oneroa Beach which is where they held their ceremony.

One lovely little girl who passed us on the beach went all wide eyed and said to her grandmother, ’Ooh look Nana, a Princess!”. Very Cute!

We went to Enclosure Bay for the creative photography session.

The light was just beautiful and I got to take some of my favourite intentional flare shots which always makes me happy :)

Thanks Alex and Zoe for a lovely, fun wedding.

NZIPP Convention 2008

This year, the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography held it’s five day annual convention down in Tauranga.  A great time was had by all!  The convention consisted of 3 days of open forum judging during which time over 1000 finished and mounted images were judged and awarded merits, and then two days of speakers, who this year included Jack Reznicki from the USA and Peter Rossi and Charmaine Heyer from Hghlights Photography in Australia.  The speakers were really good and as always I have returned to work with lots of new things to think about.

This year I received 3 silver merit awards and 4 bronzes for my entry so I was pretty stoked with that!  I was particularly pleased with doing so well in the People Category where I was awarded 2 silvers and 2 bronzes. :)

I hope you enjoy these images…
