Sally and Dan!! Married on beautiful Waiheke Island…

I knew when I had my pre-wedding day meeting with Sal and Dan that their wedding was going to be a little out of the box… and not only because the wedding involved a helicopter ride to Mudbrick Vineyard and a limited edition ‘007 James Bond’ Aston Martin, but also because Sal let slip during that meeting that she made the final decision about her wedding dress only after she checked whether or not she could ‘do the running man’ in it.  And that ladies and gentlemen is my kind of bride!

Sal and her girls got ready for the big day at Mister & Mrs Hair and Make Up Salon in Auckland,  (Make up by Ivy and Hair by Ritchyrd).

While the girls were being pampered, the lads were getting ready on Waiheke Island and Dan was busy doing some pampering of his own… by bathing their dog Dave. (Yeah, I know, it’s just not the same!).

Back at their home in Auckland, Sal was doing what every good English girl would do on her wedding day… having a nice cup of tea.

I adore the photo below of Sal as she gets hit by a wave of wedding day excitement when she first sits in her London Taxi – just stunning!

It’s a smart man indeed who covers his champagne when under attack from lavender!

Grrr. :)

Mudbrick looked amazing as always, with vase after vase of beautiful flowers on the tables creating a very natural and elegant feel.

I couldn’t get to the wedding so thanks for posting these, Emma. You’ve caught some really nice candid shots of what looked like a fun and relaxed big day for Sally & Dan. I particularly like the black & white shots. Best photo? Has to be the nervous looking Dan with Sally & Stuart approaching from behind! Bride looked stunning, by the way, though I guess good looks run in the family!

It’s amazing how a couples personality can be shown by what kind of wedding they had, this one was truly unique! I love that what sealed the deal on the dress was that it’s “Running Man” certified ;) We at Paloma Blanca always love hearing about how we played a little part in such a special day, so we would be thrilled if you shared your story with us as well on our website, or by emailing it to brides[at]palomablanca[dot]com. Congratulations!
