New Waiheke Wedding Specialist: Wedding Websites by Charlie Brown

A few years ago I photographed the gorgeous family of Charlie Brown, self taught music producer and dubstep pioneer who goes under the moniker of Optimus Gryme. (one of my favourite pics from their shoot above)

Charlie is a seriously multi-talented individual and a helluva nice guy to boot, and has just launched a new business creating wedding websites for forward thinking brides and grooms who want an easy platform to share information about their day with their friends and family.

The websites allow people to display wedding information; accommodation details, transport, links to gift registry and even a photo gallery and are 100% updatable by the the client so if something changes it’s no sweat to update all your guests.

You can check out an example of what the functionality of the sites HERE and Charlie has an introductory offer of only $299, so if you like the sound of it, be in quick!  You can contact Charlie on info(at)myredezine(dot)com or 027 9066876

Caroline and Sarah’s wedding album

I have just realised with a bit of a start that the last time I posted was the 7th June!  Eeek, where does the time go?  I have been head down in Albumville, while also paying visits to Exhibition-land (more on that at a later date) but am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Winter is meant to be the down season, right!?

Today I have a few (iphone) photos of Caroline and Sarah’s album.  The iphone is hardly a fitting way to showcase their lovely album so I apologise in advance and promise to do better next time!  A classic example of the saying ‘the best camera you have is the one you have on you at the time’…

Caroline and Sarah’s Stunning Civil Union at Mudbrick Vineyard

It’s perfect timing that in the month that NZ legalised gay marriage, I get to share on my blog the lovely civil union of Caroline and Sarah, who were married at Mudbrick Vineyard on Easter weekend.

Caroline and her family got ready for the day at Claire’s Luxury Hideaway in Onetangi, a premium property which is always an absolute pleasure to shoot in.

Caroline’s bridesmaid was her stunning niece Anna, who tried her best to remember her ‘school tie days’ while helping Caroline try on the stylish retro tie Sarah had given her a part of her wedding gift.

Caroline’s navy pinstripe suit was from boutique suit makers Anton‘s in Australia

Sarah and her family had booked a place just around the corner which overlooked Onetangi Beach, one of Waiheke’s most popular beaches.

Sarah’s stunning gown was from Astra Bridal, with her hair and make up from the ever-awesome Sharon Kenny and flowers from Virginia at Waiheke Flower Gallery

Sarah was accompanied by her sister Emma and niece Aisha

love this

Sarah and Caroline wanted to do their photos before the ceremony so that they could spend more time with their guests following the service so they had a ‘first look’ moment before the shoot in one of my favourite locations…

It was such an emotional meeting when they first caught sight of each other…

Lance’s photo above – love it!

And then it was time for the ceremony to begin at Mudbrick, under the expert eye of Auckland celebrant Chris Mullane

We had a wee bit of time up our sleeves after the family portraits so we spent some time in the Mudbrick vines, taking advantage of the lovely light as the sun went down.

What an amazing wedding… Sarah and Caroline, your love is divine.  Thanks for trusting us to capture it xx

Neil and Vincent : Civil Union Album

Neil and Vincent’s wedding album was a stylish ‘Magazine Style’ album with a black leather cover and a small black and white image inset on the front.  They left the image selection and album design completely up to me which is always great, as it allows me free reign to create an album which has an easy flow and tells the story of the day.

Neil and Vincent’s Choice;
ALBUM STYLE: Storybook/Magazine Style
ALBUM COVER: Black leather, with square photo inset.

Neil and Vincent’s Civil Union at Mudbrick Vineyard | Waiheke Island

When Neil and Vinnie first walked into my gallery in Oneroa I could tell they were going to have a very stylish civil union.  They had just come from visiting Mudbrick Vineyard which they had seen for the first time and loved immediately.  We had a bit of a chat about their plans and they booked me in for their day on the spot… and I have been looking forward to it ever since!

When I arrived at Lavender Hill where they were getting ready I could tell they were a bit nervous about being photographed.  Actually, more than a bit.  Quite nervous.  Quite a lot nervous!  They had warned me ahead of time that they would probably feel like this, so I quietly went about photographing their suits and cufflinks, flowers, etc to give them a bit of a chance to get used to me.

Lance chatted away with Neil and I watched them slowly start to relax but they were still pretty self aware around the cameras and I must confess I was beginning to think I might have to pull some serious tricks out of my bag to get them to relax!!  BUT…  then their fabulous attendants arrived, Neil’s sister who was the picture of quiet calm and one of Vinnie’s close friends who was bubbling over with infectious laughter, and I knew my worries were all gone!

We headed out around Lavender Hill to take a few photos together before the ceremony.

Neil and Vinnie had Candice Youhanna from Make up by Design come and prepare them for the big day.

When they arrived at Mudbrick Vineyard and Restaurant, they joined their guests who were having champagne in front of the potager gardens, and led them up to their ceremony location up on top of the cellar overlooking Auckland city.

Neil and Vinnie wanted for everyone to light red lanterns to send off into the sky at the conclusion of their ceremony but the wind was being decidedly uncooperative and despite several attempts from everyone, only a couple of lanterns actually took flight.  Most ended up gracing Mudbrick’s vines!

Mudbrick looked gorgeous as always and we had some time before their reception to take a walk around the grounds and grab some shots among the vines.

Neil and Vinnie’s reception was held in the Mudbrick cellar room which looked great and was perfect for the size of their gathered friends and family – I loved the beautiful flowers atop their cake.

As the light was falling, I asked Neil and Vinnie to join me outside for a few last photos before we left for the night.  There was a hint of pink flashing through the sky and I love this last image that we grabbed before the light faded away.

Thanks so much for inviting us to be part of your gorgeous Waiheke Island civil union, Neil and Vincent.  It was a wonderful celebration of your love and we really enjoyed being part of it.  xx
