Vickie and Nick’s Waiheke Wedding at The Estate, Church Bay
I have been eagerly awaiting Vickie and Nick’s wedding for a wee while – Vickie booked me back in 2010 and I knew that I was going to love her wedding day! And I did.
There were so many lovely little touches at this wedding – the symbolic cuff-links that Vickie gave her groom, the date of the wedding sewn into the jacket of Nick’s very handsome tailor made suit, Vickie’s gorgeous necklace from her grandmother (upon which her entire vintage hollywood look was based), a lucky penny in the shoe, a bagpiper to lead the bride up the aisle… so much wedding goodness!
Nick and his groomsman were getting ready at Oneroa Beach at a lovely little cottage right on the beach. The weather had been a tad unpredictable in the lead up to the day but we were lucky to get some pretty nice looking skies when we turned up.

It’s always a pleasure to shoot up at The Estate in Church Bay. Vickie was surrounded by her family (including her super excited niece) and her lovely bridesmaid as she got ready for the big occasion.

LOVED the dress!

Adore this beautifully seen photo of Lance’s below…

Vickie’s dad’s reaction when he saw her was pretty priceless!

We had a couple of minor issues with some anti-social flowers deciding they would rather not hang out with the other flowers. The beautiful bouquets had been created by a family member who put them back in place in no uncertain terms!

Check out Vickie’s amazing lashes in the photo above (she had eyelash extensions from Auckland based company Eye Envy).

Vickie’s brother Jamie gave a very emotional reading which brought a lump to the throat.

I mentioned at the start of this post about the unpredictable nature of the weather but haven’t yet talked about the wind… Hmmmm. Perhaps I’ll just let my photos do the talking!

If you look closely at the photos above you will see Vickie’s veil take flight (great capture Lance)! Well! I thought that I would never work in this town again because it FLEW away with great haste and I figured it was not planning on stopping but our gallant groom gave chase and saved the day.

Vickie and Nick’s wedding day was so relaxed and fun – everyone seemed unflappable! When Vickie spilled champagne down her dress (which does happen occasionally when one drinks directly from the bottle), she laughed and laughed. They were all such good fun it was completely infectious.

Back at The Estate everything looked gorgeous with the theme of purple and tartan enlivening the marquee. Nick’s mum had done a wonderful job in creating their cake which looked just fabulous.

Congrats Vic and Nick on such a successful and stunning wedding day, filled with all kinds of gorgeousness, great friends and lovely families. We loved being part of your celebrations. xx

Eleri and Russ | Lovely little Waiheke Island elopement
Eleri and Russ were a loooooong way from home when they tied the knot at stunning Waiheke venue Matiatia Bay over here on Waiheke Island last week. They had made the trip along with Russ’s parents from Wales and were combining their wedding day with some international travel… very nice!
Everything had been organised beautifully from afar, with Eleri pretty much taking care of everything before she and Russ set foot on Waiheke, arriving with her stunning dress from French designers Cymbeline.

Eleri’s hair and make up was expertly created by Auckland make up artist, Ashlee Kellett from Beautified. Her gorgeous flowers were from local florist Lainey from the Waiheke Flower Company in Oneroa. Eleri’s parent’s were unfortunately unable to make it to New Zealand for the wedding day so Eleri’s mum provided a gorgeous lace ribbon to be incorporated into the bouquet.

There was a little bit of trouble with the taxi which came to collect Ashlee; instead of waiting at the top of the driveway to collect her, the driver decided to come down to the units and the car got stuck in the stone-chip driveway. Russ came to the rescue as any good man on his wedding day would do! Lance caught the action…

Back in Eleri’s unit, she was being helped by her mother-in-law-to-be into her gorgeous gown…

At the ceremony site at Matiatia Bay, the resident puppy was showing off it’s impeccable manners. It is the first time we have worked up this gorgeous venue and I LOVED it! It’s a beautiful and very elegant environment; a gorgeous space to be shooting in, with a fabulous view overlooking Matiatia.

Russ set up Skype via a cell phone so that Eleri’s parent’s could witness the ceremony so when Eleri arrived the first thing they did was to wave to the family back at home.

Showing off the flowers to mum…

We headed out to one of my favourite spots on Waiheke where Eleri and Russ treated me to something I must confess I had never seen before… a ‘Morecambe and Wise’ dance!
Love it!

One of Lance’s lovely images below…

We popped down to Oneroa Beach briefly before returning to Matiatia Bay so Russ and Eleri could freshen up and get changed for their wedding dinner at Mudbrick Vineyard (where the Mudbrick very kindly let us shoot a few images up on top of their lovely mezzanine balcony).
I fell in love with Eleri’s dinner outfit – a dress made for spinning in!

Thanks Eleri and Russ – Lance and I loved being part of your very special wedding day. xx Hope you and your families enjoy this sneak peek…

Lucy and Mathew | Gorgeous Summer Wedding at Cable Bay Vineyard
Lucy and Mathew were married on what must have been one of the hottest days on Waiheke so far this summer! Luckily there was a lovely gentle breeze at play which took some of the heat out of the sun, and the weather was just magic.
Mathew’s nickname is “Flash” and he has apparently been called this from when he was a wee nipper. When we turned up at the Sands, however, he and his groomsmen were showing no obvious signs of superhuman speed… the vibe was very laid back and easy, a relaxed start to a stunning wedding day.

Lucy and the girls were getting ready for the day in a lovely home overlooking Onetangi Beach. Her fabulous dress was from designer Collette Dinnigan and was just gorgeous! I loved her whole look actually – very natural and elegant. Hannah Bylo was on-site creating the girls hair and make up looks with her usual quiet grace.

Lucy and Mathew met and had a few photographs together before their ceremony at a couple of the many great locations we have here on Waiheke Island.

I love photographing around these amazing pohutukawa trees…

We went to Surfdale Beach briefly before the boys had to leave for the ceremony…

Lucy’s beautiful flowers were created by Auckland florist Marg Dorrington.

The girls had a quick freshen up before we headed off to Cable Bay, which looked glorious. Lucy and Mathew had a traditional ceremony with prayers and readings and a candle lighting ceremony which included both of their mums.

The aforementioned gentle breeze was not being overly co-operative during the candle lighting ceremony!

Everybody relaxed on the Cable Bay grounds amid the stunning Phil Price kinetic sculptures, and enjoyed the evening sun until the reception began.

Thanks Lucy and Mathew… I hope you enjoy sharing some of your photos with your family and all the very best for your return to Aus.
